Rep. David Scott (D-GA) issued the following statement recognizing the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama: 

“Today the world witnessed a defining moment in American history; a moment that some of our most courageous and respected leaders have dreamed about and made unparalleled sacrifices for,” said Congressman Scott. “This is an extraordinary moment for this country and I am truly proud to have had the chance to witness this day.”

“As we face very challenging times in the days ahead, I have great confidence in the ability of President Obama to bring the people of this nation together and lead with integrity. I look forward to working with him and the members of his administration. Congratulations to President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and the millions of supporters who helped to make this day a reality.”
