Today, Congressman David Scott (GA-13) announced that FEMA has awarded a $106,909 grant to the City of South Fulton and a $85,714 grant to Union City through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. 

“Now more than ever, it is paramount that our firefighters and first responders have the resources that they need to successfully protect our communities,” said Congressman Scott. “I am pleased to help deliver critical federal funding to enhance the operations of the South Fulton and Union City Fire Departments. Being selected to receive AFG funds is another sign that South Fulton and Union City are leading the way in protecting the health and safety of the public in Georgia’s Thirteenth District. ”

AFG Program funding provides monies directly to fire departments and emergency medical service organization to purchase emergency response equipment, firefighting and emergency vehicles and training, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
