Congressman David Scott will travel to Colombia with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice this Thursday and Friday.  The trip will focus on trade issues as well as violence against the press and unions. 

“I plan on asking tough questions about violence against members of the press and union members on this trip,” Congressman Scott said.  “In addition, I will be taking a close look at trade and business issues that may benefit Georgia companies.” 

Congressman Scott is the only Georgia member of the influential House Foreign Affairs Committee.  He is the Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade. He is also a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and a co-chair of the Democratic Study Group on National Security.
