Yesterday, I voted for important legislation to support thousands of U.S. manufacturing jobs. H.R. 4380, the
U.S. Manufacturing Enhancement Act of 2010, contains hundreds of tariff suspensions and reductions that will help American companies manufacture and sell goods to continue growing and supporting American jobs. The bill received overwhelming bi-partisan support and is pending Senate action.

Unemployment Insurance for the long-term unemployed has passed Congress. The President will sign this bill on Friday.
Last weekI spoke on the Floor in favor of a long-term reauthorization of the Flood Insurance Program.
Committee Action
Today, the House Committee on Natural Resources passed legislation indroduced by me, theChattahoochee River National Recreation Area Boundary Study Act of 2009(H.R.3785), which will authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study of the suitability and feasibility of expanding the boundary of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The bill must now be considered by the Full House.
Also today, I heard testimony from Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, in the House Financial Services Committee.
In the hearing, I asked Chairman Bernanke to act to create jobs with the same urgency that the Fed acted to assist big banks.
On Tuesday, I held a hearing in the Agriculture Subcommittee on Livestock, Dariy and Poultry on the topic of Livestock Programs and the next Farm Bill.
