Dear Friend:
Please take a couple of minutes to read what is happening in the 13th Congressional District.
Health Fair Success
The 6th Annual 13th Congressional District Health Fair was a success. Over 1,000 district residents met with nearly 90 associations or medical groups that provided a variety of screenings, health advice and nutrition tips. Fortunately, several constituents were made aware of issues such as high blood pressure that they can now take action to address.
WSB-TV interviewed several participants and on August 16, the Clayton News-Daily wrote a summary of the health fair, which can be read at this link.

Changes to overdraft fees -
On August 15, new rules became effective to give debit and ATM card users additional options regarding overdrafts. In the past, some banks automatically enrolled you in their standard overdraft practices for all types of transactions when you opened an account. Under the new rules, your bank must first get your permission to apply its standard overdraft practices to everyday debit card and ATM transactions before you can be charged overdraft fees. To grant this permission, you will need to respond to the notice and opt in (agree). For more information, visit this link.
