House Votes
On Thursday, Congressman Scott voted for Small Business Jobs Act (H.R. 5297). This measure gives small businesses $12 billion in tax cuts to spur investment, growth, new starts and hiring. It also leverages up to $300 billion in private sector lending for small businesses, along with state grants for small business lending. Finally, it expands small business access to private capital to finance an expansion and hire new workers. For more information about the legislation, click here.
Tax incentives for hiring. Earlier this year, Congress passed the HIRE Act, which provides tax benefits to businesses that hire unemployed workers. For more information on how to apply for these credits, click here.

Selective Service Reminder
Almost all male U.S. citizens, and male aliens living in the U.S., who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. If you have a friend or family member who is included in this group, you may want to refer them to the Selective Serivce's website at this link.
Tax Assistance
The IRS will host a special open house on Saturday, Sept. 25 to help taxpayers, especially veterans and people with disabilities, solve tax problems and respond to IRS notices. The Atlanta-area open houses will be held at the locations below:

White House Internships
The application deadline for the White House Internship Program’s spring 2011 session is Sunday, October 3. For information on how to apply, click on this link.
Important Voter Information (Nov 2, Election)
October 4 is the last day to register to vote or change your voter registration location. You can download a registration form and find information about your county elections office at this link. Early voting is now underway. To find out how you can vote, please visit the Secretary of State's website.
