Dear Friend:
You may know that June is National Homeowners Month. This year, many homeowners are not celebrating. Either their home has lost significant value or they are on the verge of losing their mortgage.
As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, I have worked to create programs to help rebuild neighborhoods (e.g., Neighborhood Stabilization Program) and encourage banks to renegotiate bad mortgage terms (e.g, HAMP). I understand that America's economy cannot turn around if we do not address the foreclosure problem.
This issue of my newsletter, I want to share some resources and tools that can help save homes and rebuild neighborhoods. Please take a minute to read up on the latest housing events and programs around Atlanta.
Mortgage Modification Event Friday and Saturday
This weekend I am joining with the Treasury Department to host a two-day mortgage modification workshop. If you need to meet with your lender about your mortgage, then this event could save your home. Dozens of banks and financial institutions will personally meet with you. For more information about the event and what paperwork you will be required to bring with you, contact my office or visit my website at: https://davidscott.house.gov

Foreclosure Prevention Tips
Congressman Scott's office has worked with hundreds of constituents who are facing foreclosure. Based on these cases, a list of tips and resources were created. You can learn more on my blog: https://davidscott.house.gov/Blog/?postid=223960. Also, you can provide feedback on the blog about your experiences and tips.
News Clip On Foreclosure Efforts
Congressman Scott was profiled on WSB-TV's People 2 People program this past weekend. The segment focused on the work his office is doing to help constituents with foreclosure problems. Unfortunately, thousands of Georgians are victims of loan servicers who: have sloppy paperwork procedures; have failed to keep track of mortgages that have been sold to secondary markets; or refuse to commit resources to work through these issues. You can watch the story at this link: http://www.wsbtv.com/video/28220541/index.html
Thank you for taking time to read my newsletter. If I can be of assistance, please contact me through one of the addresses located at the end of this message. We can also connect via Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or LinkedIn.
Sincerely,
David Scott
Member of Congress
