Congressman Scott voted for the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act (H.R. 2194). He was appointed to the conference committee to reconcile the different House and Senate versions of H.R. 2194 and write the final bill.For more information about the legislation, click here.
 

Congressman Scott voted this week for the DISCLOSE Act (H.R. 5175), which will close some of the biggest election loopholes created by a recent court decision and help ensure that the voices of the American people are not drowned out by a corporate takeover of our elections.  In the Citizens United case, the Supreme Court opened the floodgates to unrestricted special interest campaign donations in American elections—even from entities controlled by foreign governments.  For more information about the bill, click here. 
 

Expired legislation - unemployment insurance and flood insurance.

Information about long-term unemployment benefits.  Yesterday, the Senate failed to extend unemployment benefits yet again.  Unfortunately, the House has passed extensions to the program, but the Senate has not acted quickly enough before the law expired.  This creates gaps in coverage and hardship for constituents. If you need assistance with an expired program, please contact my office at the numbers below.

On June 23,Congressman Scott was quoted in an 11 Alive news story about the lag in buyout funding for Cobb County homeowners. Congressman Scott is fully committed to ensuring that flood victims recieve assistance.
