Home Depot Jobs for Veterans
The Home Depot is launching a new program called "Mission: Transition" to assist the military community with job searches. The company is hosting a training session on Saturday, October 27 from 2 pm to 5 pm. It will be located at 1200 E W Connector SW Austell, GA 30106. Space is limited, and participants must register at www.homedepotmilitary.com.
In addition, The Home Depot’s career website has launched a skills translator tool to help veterans find jobs at The Home Depot that fit their qualifications, at www.careers.homedepot.com/military.
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
November 6 is the deadline for applications for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Young Georgia residents in grades 5-12 may apply.
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program has honored more than 100,000 youth volunteers over the past 17 years at the local, state and national level. On October 28, Congressman Scott will speak at the Greater New Hope Christian Assembly in Stockbridge, for their 15th Church Anniversary Service.
On October 30, the Congressman will speak at the annual Health & Safety Fall Festival for Clayton County Community Services Authority, Head Start Program in Forest Park.
Election Dates
October 15 - Advance in-person voting begins. Check with your local County Board of Registrars Office for a list of early in-person voting locations.
October 27 - Saturday in-person early voting. This is the only Saturday available for in-person voting.
November 6 - Election Day.
Voting By Mail
You can absentee vote by mail. Download this form and mail, fax, or present the form in person to your local County Board of Registrars Office. A ballot must be received by the county registrar no later than the close of polls on Election Day, November 6. Delivery can be either U.S. first class mail or hand delivered by the voter. If mailing, you must affix postage to the ballot envelope.
