Happy New Year.
The new Congress has been sworn in for a two-year term. Usually, the first couple of weeks in a new session are filled with housekeeping measures. House rules are approved, committee assignments are approved, new members open their offices, etc. One of the first bills passed was a disaster relief measure to help the areas damaged by Hurricane Sandy (H.R. 152). This bill must be addressed by the Senate.
