Congressman Scott in the news.
On June 14, the Douglas County Sentinel ran a story about the hometown tribute to Ricky Dobbs - a Douglas County High graduate, who is the quarterback for the Naval Academy football team. Congressman Scott gave remarks to the event and later commended the young man with a speech on the House floor.
Monday, May 14 was flag day. You may not know that Congressman Scott authored the law adding Fathers Day to the list of official days to fly the flag. A constituent shared this oversight to the Congressman when he realized that Mothers Day was recognized, but not Fathers Day. So, fly the flag this Sunday in honor of fathers.

Expired legislation - unemployment insurance.
Information about long-term unemployment benefits. Unfortunately, the House has passed extensions to the program, but the Senate has not acted quickly enough before the law expired. This creates gaps in coverage and hardship for constituents. In addition, the House has extended the Flood Insurance Program, but the Senate is still sitting on the legislation. If you need assistance with an expired program, please contact my office at the numbers below.
Thank you for taking time to read my newsletter. If I can be of assistance, please contact me through one of the addresses located at the end of this message. Have a good rest of the week.
Sincerely,
David Scott
