Today, eligible residents of Georgia will be able to apply for coverage through the state’s Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan program run by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan was created by the Affordable Health Care Act to make health insurance available to those who have had a problem getting insurance due to a pre-existing condition. “Too many Georgians are at risk of falling into bankruptcy due to their medical condition,” Congressman Scott said. “I voted for The Affordable Health Care Act to help folks who have lost insurance due to pre-existing conditions and have no safety net. This new program will help many Georgians manage their disease and offer a lifeline to financial security.” To qualify for coverage: |
