WHAT: Congressman David Scott will join the Honorable James Bilbray, a member of the 2005 Defense Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission and former Member of Congress, during his visit to Ft. Gillem to assess firsthand whether the military installation should be closed as recommended by the Defense Department. Congressman Scott and BRAC Commissioner Bilbray will participate in an Installation Overview presented by Ft. Gillem’s Commanding Col. Angela Manos as well as a riding tour of the base. Scott and Bilbray will also take part in an informal lunch discussion on the impact of BRAC recommendations to close Ft. Gillem. The visit will conclude with a press conference during which Congressman Scott and Commissioner Bilbray will address and answer questions from the media.
