Art Contest

Each year, Congressman Scott sponsors the district-wide Annual Congressional Art Competition, An Artistic Discovery. This high school visual art competition recognizes and encourages artistic talent in Georgia’s Thirteenth Congressional District. To date, Scott has awarded over $392,000 in scholarships to student artists. 

Student submissions for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition must be delivered to Congressman Scott’s Smyrna or Jonesboro District Office by April 16, 2021. Students may obtain entry forms and official guidelines from their high school art teachers. There is no mandatory theme for the competition.

2021 Congressional Art Competition Awards for Georgia's Thirteenth Congressional District:

1st Place:

  • $12,000 scholarship to the Art Institute of Atlanta
  • $3,000/ per year scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design (renewable for up to 4 years or $12,000)
  • 2 Round-trip airfare tickets on Southwest Airlines to attend the national ribbon-cutting ceremony in Washington, D.C.
  • Student artwork will hang in the Tunnel of the Cannon House Office Building for 1 year

2nd Place:

  • $7,500 scholarship to the Art Institute of Atlanta
  • Artwork will hang in our Washington, D.C. office for one year

3rd Place:

  • $3,500 scholarship to the Art Institute of Atlanta
  • $1,500 individual scholarship
  • Artwork will hang at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for one year

4th Place:

  • Artwork will hang in our Jonesboro office for one year
  • 2 Complimentary tickets to High Museum of Art

5th Place:

  • Artwork will hang in our Smyrna office for one year
  • 2 Complimentary tickets to High Museum of Art

Honorable Mention:

  • 2 Complimentary tickets to High Museum of Art
