Flag Day

Today is Flag Day, which is celebrated annually on June 14th to celebrate the history of the United States flag and all that it symbolizes to Americans. The United States flag represents hope, courage and freedom to all American citizens.

A constituent contacted me once about his concern that Mothers Day was an official day to fly the flag, but Fathers Day was not. I was able to introduce a bill to include Fathers Day and it was passed through Congress without opposition and became Public Law No: 110-239. So, fly Old Glory today and on Fathers Day!
