U.S. Representative David Scott (GA-13) announced today that federal grants totaling nearly $1 million have been awarded to Rockdale and Newton Counties from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). “I am pleased to share this great news with residents of Rockdale and Newton Counties,” said Congressman Scott. “Each of these grant awards represent my continued efforts to bring more money back from Washington to the Thirteenth District to support a high quality of life for all of our residents.” Grants awarded include: • $484,285 to the Conyers Housing Authority under HUD’s FY2005 Capital Fund Program for modernization, development and management improvements; • $463,199 to the Covington Housing Authority also under HUD’s FY2005 Capital Fund Program for modernization, development and management improvements. ###
