Today, Congressman David Scott (GA-13) announced $3,511,319 in federal funding he helped secure for the City of South Fulton and Henry County Fire Departments. Under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, the South Fulton Fire Department was allocated a $2,242,500 federal grant to hire 21 new firefighters, and the Henry County Fire Department was allocated a $1,268,819 grant for new, enhanced ambulatory patient lift systems.

"Local fire departments play a vital role in keeping our communities safe,” said Congressman Scott. “I am proud to have helped secure these funds for the City of South Fulton and Henry County Fire Departments. As a member of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, I am well aware of the critical need to increase and maintain the number of trained, front-line firefighters. And I will continue working to support and deliver federal funding for the fire departments across Georgia’s Thirteenth Congressional District.”
