Scott Announces $7.7M in Emergency Community Development Aid for Thirteenth District

Today, Congressman David Scott (GA-13) announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded $7,771,885 in federal grants to address the significant financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Clayton, Cobb, Fulton and Henry counties. The grants were funded under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

“As our communities continue to experience widespread economic uncertainty unleashed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever that they know that the federal government will not stop supporting those most in need,” said Congressman Scott. “I am proud to have fought to ensure that the CARES Act delivers funding for homelessness support and mitigation during this terrible crisis. Now more than ever our communities need help to operate emergency shelters, providing essential services for people experiencing or at risk of facing homelessness. With this supplemental funding, Georgia’s Thirteenth District will also be able to further train our health care workforce, improve facilities for testing and treatment, and start the important work of recovering from this pandemic.”
