Congressman David Scott (GA-13) today issued the following statement in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month: “Today marks the start of Pride Month, a celebration of authenticity, inclusion and decades of progress in the long struggle for equality by LGBTQ people. “Pride began as a fight for the American ideals of life and liberty for all. In these shared ideals and our commitment to a more perfect union, we can all draw upon the LGBTQ community’s legacy of fierce activism and persistence in the face of adversity to demand that our laws protect the rights of all of our neighbors to live open, free and honest lives without fear of discrimination or harassment. “I am proud to be an ally in that fight.” ### |
