Congressman David Scott today released the following statement to commemorate National Gun Violence Awareness Day 2021: “As mass shootings and deadly incidents involving a gun continue to rise, not just in Georgia but across the nation, I am proud to wear orange in support of a future free from gun violence. “The tragedy brought into communities, families and neighborhoods by gun violence is preventable. Enough was enough long ago. Congress must do more to ensure the safety of our communities, and I call on the Senate to swiftly take up the reform measures that passed in the House of Representatives earlier this year. Together, we can save lives.” Congressman David Scott voted to pass H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and H.R. 1446, the Enhanced Background Checks Act, in March of 2021. ### |
