ICYMI: Led by Chairman David Scott, House Ag Members Advance Bipartisan Bill to Establish $100 Million in Permanent 1890 Student Scholarship Funding Out of Committee

Yesterday, the House Agriculture Committee passed out of committee H.R. 4252, bipartisan legislation introduced and championed by Chairman David Scott to establish $100 million in permanent funding for student scholarships at the nineteen 1890 land-grant colleges and universities. The bill was reported favorably out of the Committee with overwhelming bipartisan support by a 43-3 vote and is now in line for consideration by the full House of Representatives. The 1890s Land Grant institutions are the following 19 universities: Fort Valley State University (located in Fort Valley, GA), Alabama A&M, Alcorn State University, Central State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Kentucky State University, Langston University, Lincoln University, North Carolina A&T University, Prairie View A&M University, South Carolina State University, Southern University, Tennessee State University, Tuskegee University, University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Virginia State University and West Virginia State University. ### |
