Congressman David Scott (GA-13), chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, today issued the following statement on President Joe Biden's Nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. "In Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Biden has nominated to the Supreme Court a jurist with exceptional qualifications and an impressive record of jurisprudence befitting a lifetime appointment to our country’s highest court. "Representation matters. Judge Jackson’s lived experience will add unprecedented perspective towards the Court’s duty to the Constitution and as we continue our march towards a more perfect union, her historic nomination is a meaningful step towards a Supreme Court that reflects the diversity of America. "The Senate has already confirmed Judge Jackson by a bipartisan vote three times, most recently last year to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and I look forward to her fair consideration and swift confirmation as soon as possible." ###
