September 11, 2025
WASHINGTON D.C. - Today, U.S. Congressman David Scott released the following statement honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks on 9/11 “Today, we remember and honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. This day remains one of the darkest in our nation’s history, a day when families were forever changed. We hold close in our hearts the loved ones who never came home and extend our deepest gratitude to the families who continue to carry that loss with unimaginable strength. We also pay tribute to the brave first responders and countless others who rushed into harm's way without hesitation. Their courage and sacrifice embody the very best of what it means to be an American. They remind us that even in moments of terror and destruction, humanity’s capacity for selflessness and heroism shines through. Though 24 years have passed, the legacy of that day is not just one of tragedy but of resilience. In the face of devastation, our nation came together. As we reflect today, let us recommit ourselves to that spirit of unity, to honoring the memory of those we lost, and to never forgetting the strength we find in one another.” |
