WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman David Scott issued the following statement regarding the Trump administration’s decision to move forward with importing beef from Argentina.

“The President’s push to quadruple beef imports from Argentina is appalling. This decision not only ignores our nation’s food security but threatens to further squeeze domestic cattle producers, already burdened by high feed, fuel, and input costs. Instead of undermining American cattlemen who cannot compete with international dumping or cost-shifting, the administration should double down on policies that strengthen our domestic supply chains and expand U.S. beef production. Our farmers and ranchers deserve a president that fights for them, not one that sells them out to foreign interests. I call on the President to immediately reverse his reckless decision before it's too late.”
