Congressman David Statement on the Trump Administration’s Release of Only Partial SNAP Benefits for November

WASHINGTON D.C. Today, Congressman David Scott (GA-13), released the following statement after the Administration announced its refusal to provide full monthly Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to recipients.

“After attempting to illegally withhold SNAP funding for November, the USDA’s announcement that SNAP recipients will only receive half of the November benefits they are owed reflects yet another continuation in the Trump Administration’s attacks on the nation’s largest safety net program. Friday’s court ruling highlighted that the administration has both the funds and the authority to deliver full benefits to families in need. The USDA has the legal and moral duty to provide these funds immediately. Hardworking Americans should not have to wait another day for the nutritional assistance Congress intended them to receive.”
