On Memorial Day, Americans come together to remember those who have sacrificed their lives on behalf of our country in the name of freedom and democracy. As we enjoy this Memorial Day with our families and friends, we must do more than simply reflect and praise the courageous and patriotic service of those who have served in our nation’s defense. We must always make sure that our country is fulfilling its obligation to support those who have sacrificed.
As your representative, I have long supported the needs of our active-duty soldiers and veterans who served honorably. I have worked diligently to ensure access to health care, create guaranteed funding for veterans’ services and improve funding for special VA programs such as post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, blindness rehabilitation, spinal cord injury centers, homelessness, psychosocial rehabilitation and long-term care. It is critical that we provide the best health care and educational support for our service members and veterans if we are to fulfill our commitment to those who helped build America’s strength and security. We must never forsake the price our veterans have paid in their honorable service to our country. As 112th Congress progresses, I will work in a bipartisan way to continue our support for America's active duty men and women, veterans and survivors |
