Congressman Scott Appointed to the NATO Parliament as a Voting Member
 Today Congressman David Scott (D-GA) was appointed to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly as a voting member by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Congressman Scott, who was recently appointed to the influential Committee on Foreign Affairs, will travel to Brussels, Belgium on February 17 to participate in the 2007 opening session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

“This is a very crucial and challenging time for NATO,” said Congressman Scott. “30,000 NATO troops along with U.S. forces are leading the fight against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

Scott continued, “I am very appreciative for this appointment to represent the United States as a voting member of the NATO Parliament. I look forward to working with our allies in Europe and the Middle East as we face very difficult and complex issues.”

Congressman Scott will travel to Belgium, France and Italy for the NATO meeting February 17 -25, 2007.
